Frequently Asked Questions

What time does the show ground open?

The showground is open from 8:30am, with the first judging in the main ring at 8:45am through to 5pm.

How much are ticket prices?

Please see our ticket section for information on ticket prices. You can buy your tickets on the day as you arrive at the show ground. We are hoping to have card payment facilities at our show field entry and also online ticket purchasing so you can buy online beforehand and be ready to go straight in on show day.

Is there any public transport to the show?

Yes! On show day we have buses to and from Whitby and from Egton train station. The bus from Whitby leaves Langbourne Road at 9.30am and runs hourly after that until 5:30pm. Return bus from Egton to Whitby is every hour from 10am until 6pm.

Is there parking?

Yes. We have plenty of field parking in nearby farmers fields. Huge thank you to those land owners for letting us use them. There is no parking on the show field.

Are dogs allowed on the Show field?

Well behaved dogs are allowed on the field. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. There are some areas that dogs are not permitted such as the fur and feather tents, this is to ensure our entered birds and animals aren’t scared.

How can I get a trade stand?

Trade stand prices start from £60, if you would like to be added to the trade stand waiting list, contact Kate Johnson (tradestands@egtonshow.org.uk). For a stand in the Art and Craft tent please contact Pauline Rowell (artsandcraft@egtonshow.org.uk). Please note that we currently have a waiting list for all trade stands.

Is there disabled access?

We do all we can to make the show field accessible. We have disabled toilets and limited disabled parking is available. This parking must be arranged before show day, please contact the general secretary to request this disabled parking, unfortunately it is not guaranteed. We are on an agricultural field; therefore the ground is not level at any time. If the weather has been bad, the conditions can become difficult for all.

Can I make card payments?

The show committee do all they can to allow card payments for your entry ticket into the show. Our trade stands are all independent companies therefore it is up to them regarding their payment preferences. We are also on a field. Connectivity for card machines may not always be successful. Our advice is that you come prepared with cash and card payment options.

When do entries open?

Show entries open as soon as we release our annual schedules. Please see our annual schedule for all our classes. Entry closing date is two weeks before the show date. We cannot accept late entries. Our section secretaries only process your entries once the closing date has passed therefore, please wait until after the closing date and give us time to get your numbers and show information to you.

What time does judging happen?

Please look at the show schedule for information on this. Judging time varies dependant on your class. The majority of marquee judging happens from 10am. From this time, marquees will be closed to the public until judging is over.
